Senator Natasha Akpoti has accused the president of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio of sexually harassing her, saying it was her refusal to yield to Senator Akpabio’s sexual advances that is responsible for her ordeal in the Senate.

Senator Natasha levelled the allegation against the president of the Senate when she appeared on the Morning Show on Arise Television.

According to Senator Natasha, the incident started on December 8, 2023, when Senator Akpabio invited her and her husband to Uyo for a fun fair in Ikot Ekpene.

This is the second time that a high-ranking woman would accuse Senator Akpabio of sexual harassment

In 2020, the former Acting Managing Director of Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Joy Nunieh, claimed that she slapped the then Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, for sexually assaulting her.

The former Acting Managing Director made the allegation when she appeared on same Arise TV.
“Why did he not tell Nigerians that I slapped him in his guest house at Apo? I am the only Ogoni woman, the only Nigerian woman that has slapped him. I slapped him because of his plan B. Since he couldn’t get me to take that money, he thought that he could come up on me.

“He didn’t know that I’m a Port Harcourt girl. Port Harcourt girls are not moved by money…by somebody telling me that he will make me the substantive MD. Akpabio’s meetings with me were either at Apo or Meridien…Yes, I am accusing him of sexual harassment” she had said.

As at the time of this report, Senator Akpabio has not responded to the accusation levelled against him by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
