Drink Zeva lager beer, Gov. Alia tells excited crowd

Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has urged Benue people to patronise Zeva larger beer, saying the unveiling of the state alcoholic beverage would boost Internally Generated Revenue( IGR) and create jobs for youths.

Alia also said the brewery will also serve as a model for innovation and industrial excellence, positioning the state as an attractive destination for both local and international investors.

At the unveiling ceremony of the lager beer, produced and managed by the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC), in Makurdi, the state capital, on Sunday, December 22, the governor enjoined the crowd to “like” other lager beers in the country but “Love” the Benue beer.

“The production of Zeva Premium Lager Beer by BIPC is the significant milestone for us as a State.It speaks to our determination to harness our resources, build and revive dormant industries and foster local economic growth.

“Today, we not only celebrate the launch of a world -class product but also reaffirm our commitment to repositioning the State as a beacon of industrial growth and opportunity in Nigeria.” he said.

He commended the “innovative” leadership style of the MD/CEO of BIPC Raymond Asemaka and his team.

Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and the Vice Chairman, North Central, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Hyacinth Aondona Dajoh represented by the Minority Leader, Michael Audu, commended the initiative of the BIPC Management under the leadership of  Asemakaha.

The Speaker also assured BIPC of quality legislation in their favour to thrive for the overall good of the State.

In his remarks, Asemakaha, the BIPC’s managing director said the reasons that nececitated the reestablishment of the Benue lager beer also known as “ZEVA” was to improve GDP, generate employment and improve the lives of Benue farmers.
