Minority tribes from 19 Northern states have thrown their weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s government noting that with President Bola Tinubu, “this nation is finally on the right path to greatness”.
Addressing a press conference in Abuja, convener of the Northern Minorities for Tinubu, Chief Jacob Edi said the group will mobilise all ethnic minorities from the north to support not only the Tinubu government now but to drum up support for his reelection in 2027.
According to Chief Edi, who is the Kaakaaki Bassange and a special Adviser to the governor of Kogi state, the support from the Ethnic Minorities for president Tinubu ” is organic. It is conviction”.
the text of the statement read:
“WHY WE STAND WITH TINUBU”
Gentlemen of the press, thank you for honouring our invitation. Your presence today shows not just respect for us, but also recognition of the voice we represent: the true voice of the North.
We are here to officially present to Nigerians the Northern Minorities 4 Tinubu. Our mission is clear: to add our voice to the growing, unstoppable wave of support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. What you see across the country today is not a manufactured hype.
“It is organic. It is conviction.
Nigerians believe and, rightly so, that under Tinubu, this nation is finally on the right path.
Since 1999, we have never seen anything like this. Leaders from opposition parties are openly pledging support for a sitting president. The governors of Plateau, HE, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, (PDP), Anambra, HE Charles Chukwuma Soludo, (APGA), Osun, HE, Ademola Adeleke, (PDP) and Abia, HE, Dr. Alex Otti, (LP) have all boldly announced their support. That is not politics as usual. That is proof of leadership that cuts across divides.
But while genuine support is rising, a handful of self-serving elites are pushing a poisonous lie.. that Tinubu is anti-North.
Nothing can be farther from the truth.
Let us be blunt: this is not about truth, it is about power. Their oligarchical instinct to dominate is at play. They shout the loudest, but they do not represent us. We, the northern minorities, the true majority of the North, reject their falsehood.
Look at the facts. How can anyone, in good conscience, say Tinubu is anti-North? The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Minister of Defence, the National Security Adviser, the Chief of Defence Staff, the GMD of NNPCL, the MD/CEO of Ajaokuta Steel Company, the very cerebral Minister of information and National Orientation are all northerners. Or is there any other north unknown to we, the minoritoes of northern Nigeria? Let us not forget the creation of the North-West and North-Central Development Commissions which came into existence by the vision of one man, to tackle our region’s unique challenges and begin the narrative of equitable allocation of resources.
And for the first time in history, an indigene of the FCT sits at the Federal Executive Council.
This is not tokenism. This is transformation in its purest and real form, gentlemen.
Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa put it best: “From critical infrastructure development to significant strides in agriculture and security, the President has demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to the welfare and progress of Northern Nigeria.” These are not empty words. They are facts on the ground.
And to those who doubt, we say: wait and see. In the weeks ahead, two million northerners, from all 19 northern states, will converge on Abuja to show where we stand. Not with the loud minority of detractors, but with President Tinubu, the one who truly understand the dynamics of power as it concerns nation building.
Yes, Nigerians are feeling the pain of reforms. We are too. But these pains are like labour pains: temporary, necessary, and leading to something greater… a bundle of joy. When the results fully manifest, this country will look back and thank Tinubu for the courage to act.
Our next step is clear. We will move across the 19 northern states, inaugurating chapters, mobilising, and building momentum for Tinubu’s re-election. And let it be known today: in 2027, the North will deliver not just victory, but an authoritative, crushing victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
CONVENER,
Chief Jacob Edi, mnipr
(Kakaki Bassange)
One Response
This is timely and in support of the movement. With the Northern Minorities now in place, victory is sure.
