A widow to an American citizen, Mary Moore, who was abducted on her way to board a flight at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, has been rescued after 72 hours in kidnappers den.
The incident was said to have happened on September 8, 2025, around 5:30 p.m in the Wuse Zone 3 area of Abuja enroute to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
Family sources told our correspondent that Moore was on her way to catch an Air Peace flight scheduled for 8:30 p.m. to Lagos where she was to attend a U.S. immigration visa interview at the consulate in Lagos the following morning.
According to security sources, she was seized by armed men and taken to an undisclosed location later traced to neighbouring Nasarawa State by operatives of the police anti-kidnapping squad.
“The team kept tracking and searching until she was eventually found on September 11, almost unconscious, in a community in Kubwa, Abuja,” one of the security sources said.
The kidnappers were said to have dispossessed her of $2,000 along with other valuables before abandoning her.
She has been discharged from hospital, where family sources confirmed she is responding to treatment.
