Policemen grumble in Lagos over “POWA Dues”

There is disquiet in the Lagos Command of the Nigeria Police Force following a directive allegedly by the Commissioner of police that officers from the rank of Superintendent and above pay N12, 000 while inspectors and bellow are to pay N6, 000 as “annual Dues” to the coffers of the Police Officers Wive⁷s Association.

In the signal sighted by Whitewaterdigest, all sectional/beat heads were directed to ensure strict compliance on or before 21st February, 2025.

Reacting to the development, a Police Inspector serving in Lagos told Whitewaterdigest that in his over fifteen years in service, this is the first time he was receiving such signal.
The officer who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of victimization said “we all find the signal very curious. I have never seen a thong like this in my entire career of over fifteen years. I am not sure anybody will pay this so called POWA dues”
