Respite has come the way of the embattled governor of Rivers state, Siminalyi Fubara and his deputy, Prof. Ngozi Odu as the State House of Assembly has suspended the impeachment proceedings initiated against them after the intervention of President Bola Tinubu.
Thursday’s adoption of the resolution halting the process provides some sort of relief for the governor who has known no peace since he was elected because of his falling out with his former god father, Nyesome Wike.
The state Assembly initiated another round of impeachment process against the governor and his deputy for what they say is gross misconduct perpetrated by the duo.
president Tinubu initiated a peace meeting between Fubara and Wike, the fourth since the crisis began which culminated in the latest ceasefire.
