2027: Stakeholders call on Governor Sule to contest for Nasarawa North senatorial seat

Stakeholders in Akwanga Local Government Area have appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule to offer himself for the Nasarawa North Senatorial Seat come 2027 elections.

The stakeholders comprising of elders, political leaders, traditional titleholders, youth representatives, and women leaders in the area unanimously agreed that the Governor is a worthy representative who can bear the flag for the benefit of the populace.

They took the position during a meeting at the VIP Lodge in Akwanga on Monday.

Hon Yakubu Kwanta, the State Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, who read the communiqué cited the governor’s transformational leadership, infrastructural advancement, and inclusive governance as reasons for their decision.

According to the communique, Governor Sule’s tenure has witnessed massive infrastructural development, including road construction, rural electrification, water supply, healthcare delivery, and expansion of educational institutions across the Senatorial District.

“We, the people of Akwanga Local Government Area, have unanimously resolved to call on His Excellency, the Governor to heed to the Clarion call of the People and contest for the Nasarawa North Senatorial Seat.

“His Excellency has prioritised youth and women empowerment, entrepreneurship training, skill acquisition, and employment generation across communities in Nasarawa North,” Hon Kwanta said.

The stakeholders also highlighted Governor Sule’s integrity, vision, and competence, saying his background in industry and governance makes him a bridge between grassroots needs and national policy frameworks.

He stated that the stakeholders were committed to mobilising full grassroots support across all wards and polling units in Akwanga LGA to ensure Governor Sule’s victory.

They appealed to stakeholders from Wamba and Nasarawa-Eggon to rally around this noble cause for the collective development of the Senatorial Zone.

“We reaffirm our unwavering belief that Engr. A. A. Sule’s presence in the Senate will translate into greater opportunities and visibility for Nasarawa North,” Hon Kwanta added.

The communique therefore urged the governor to accept the call to national legislative service.
