We Must Build Trust, Reduce Candidates’ Trauma — JAMB Registrar

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Segun Aina, has charged staff of the Board to prioritise customer-oriented service delivery, saying every interaction with candidates was an opportunity to build public trust in the examination body.

Aina, who spoke during his maiden visit to some of JAMB’s outstation offices at the weekend, said the Board must adopt innovative strategies and technologies to improve candidates’ experience and respond to the changing expectations of its clientele.

The Registrar, who described quality customer service as central to the Board’s operations, urged staff to remain courteous, responsive and solution-driven in dealing with candidates.

He said: “We must all come together to build trust and reduce trauma.”

Aina said the need for improved service had become more pressing with the growing number of Generation Z candidates accessing JAMB’s services, stressing that staff must be resilient and adaptable in responding to emerging realities in the service environment.

He assured workers that management would provide the necessary tools, training and institutional support to enable them discharge their responsibilities efficiently.

The Registrar also called for greater teamwork and professionalism among staff, saying the Board would continue to deploy deliberate strategies, innovative initiatives and appropriate technologies to enhance service delivery.

During the visits, Aina interacted with staff and familiarised himself with the operations and challenges confronting the various outstation
offices.

He appreciated the workers for their warm reception and urged them to remain committed to advancing the mandate of the Board.

Staff at the stations visited congratulated the Registrar on his appointment and expressed optimism that the visit would strengthen the relationship between the Board’s leadership and its workforce.

They also pledged their support for his vision and assured him of their continued dedication, professionalism and teamwork in improving JAMB’s services to candidates.
