After months of extensive consultations and competitive engagements with political stakeholders traditionalists across the Benue North-East Senatorial District, a political Pressure Group, the Swem  Brotherhood has declared its support for Thomas Tyolumun Unongo as its preferred candidate for the Zone ‘A’ Senatorial seat in 2027 of Benue state.

In a formal declaration, the Chief Promoter of the Swem Brotherhood and member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Elijah Fave Iorbee said he was mandated by the Brotherhood to make the pronouncement on behalf of Kwande sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora.

According to the declaration, the decision followed wide consultations and deep reflection on the future of the district and the kind of representation Zone ‘A’ requires at this defining moment.

“The Swem Brotherhood, after due consideration, hereby declares Hon. Thomas Tyolumun Unongo as the son to whom Kwande is beloved. He is the leader we will rally behind to secure Zone ‘A’ senatorial mandate for Kwande come 2027,” the statement read.

The Brotherhood described Tyolumun Unongo as the worthy scion of the Venerable Wantaregh Paul Iyorpuu Unongo, noting that he carries forward a legacy of service, integrity, and commitment to the people.

“We have no hesitation in pronouncing Tyolumun Unongo as the true choice of Kwande for the Senate. He embodies the values of service, experience, and vision that our people require to navigate the challenges of our time and to attract meaningful development to Benue North-East,” Iorbee stated.

The Swem Brotherhood further pledged its total commitment to the Unongo project, vowing to stand with him, mobilize across all wards and communities, and work assiduously to ensure victory for the good of the entire senatorial district.

“As we march toward 2027, the Swem Brotherhood  will deploy its full structure to support, defend, and deliver this mandate to Thomas Tyolumun Unongo. The declaration concluded.
