President Bola Tinubu has nominated to the senate for conformation, the wife of the chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Dr. Zainab Marwa as a member of the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to representing the North-East geopolitical zone.
The nomination, according to a letter from President Tinubu to the President of the Senate, was made according to Section 2 of the NDDC Establishment Act and is intended to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of the former North-East representative, Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas.

The letter stated: “I am pleased to present for confirmation by the Senate the nomination of Dr. Zainab Marwa as member representing the North-East in the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission.”

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio referred the nomination to the Senate Committee on NDDC for further legislative action.
Meanwhile, the Senate also announced the creation of a committee to scrutinise bills transmitted from the House of Representatives for concurrence, aimed at improving legislative coordination.
